Vtech means not only tuning and race cars – new product in our offer is box (plug-n-play module) for diesels – Ecobox. It will reduce fuel consumption and receive some additional engine power. Your car will be more ecological too. Ecobox for common-rail engines, trough reduction of fuel consumption, cares of your pocket and environment. Ecoboxes are programmed specifically for various groups of engines. Using an information extracted from factory ECU rail pressure maps Ecobox modifies pressure control. That results in increasing quality of burning and mileage.

Main customers group for that product line are German taxi companies and fleet companies. Quite big group of individual customers buy Ecobox, as they are interested in reduced fuel consumption and also noticeable increase of power and torque. If your case is that you wish to reduce fuel consumption by 12 % and you will be satisfied with power & torque increase of 10% - this product is for you and your car.

How it works ?

Ecobox is connected to rail pressure sensor line with factory-like adapters. It compares actual rail pressure sensor readings with factory rail pressure map, coded in ECU. Clone of that map is saved in Ecobox memory. It explains why Ecobox is intended to work with exact type of engine, for which it was prepared. Whole development of maps for every type of engine is done at our professional dynos.

Ecobox increases slightly rail pressure in that area of working map, where car is accelerating. But while cruising with almost stable speed – it will reduce the pressure. Also in places of ECU map, where characteristics of pressure is not stable or inconstant – Ecobox will correct this.

When you cruise – car works more silent and soft. If you have to overtake or simply accelerate – Ecobox gives additional power and increases power of engine – you will feel that as an extra “overboost”.

This solution seems outwardly simple. But original maps of rail pressure from factory ECU for exact type of your engine must be coded into our box, also we have to use fast micro controller to analyse maps and readings coming from rail sensor in real-time. Basing on accurate knowledge of specific engine power and torque curves, Ecobox can be very efficient in increasing mileage.

What is the price and how much can I spare?

Example 1 – your car consumes 7 litres of diesel. Let the savings be average - 7 % (about 0,5 litre less per 100 km – usually you will achieve better savings – up to 12%). Car makes 30 000 km per year. In that case you will save 165 EUR per year (price of diesel = 1.10 EUR). In one year it is paid – but notice that thanks to Ecobox you can drive more powerful car – this is additional advantage.

Example 2 – your car consumes 8 litres of diesel (like a taxi cab in city traffic). Let the savings be 10 % (about 0,8 litre less per 100 km). Car makes 30 000 km per year. In that case you will save 250 EUR per year (price of diesel = 1.10 EUR).

What else should I know?

Ecobox cannot be used in parallel with other diesel tuning boxes for common-rail engines (it does not depend on who is the producer of diesel box). It should not be used in cars that are already chip-tuned. It is intend to work in normal, not tuned car.

Ecobox is pre-programmed to specific engine or group of engines. That does not mean, that you cannot use it in another engines, but you may expect lower savings.

Vtech offers also fleet solutions. In that case of changes of cars in fleet (but with Common Rail engines) Ecobox modules will be re-programmed and adapted to new cars (also other producer cars) without extra costs trough agreed time.

It is a possibility of re-programming of Ecobox and adapting it to other car (in the case you sell your car and buy another).
